‘REALLY’ LISTEN TO NATURE

Naturalist John Muir eloquently wrote:

“Here is calm

so deep, grasses cease waving…

wonderful how completely

everything in wild

nature fits into us, as if truly part

and parent of us.  The

sun shines not on us, but in us.  The

rivers flow not past,

but through us, thrilling, tingling,

vibrating every fiber

and cell of this substance of our

bodies, making them glide and sing.”

If you ‘really’ listen, you will find that nature is singing it’s beauty to you through every dimension.  Everything is alive as I walk in my yard….the grass, the bees, the oak trees, the squirrels, everything.  And Pepper the cat is taking it all in like a zen master, studying his surroundings with rapt attention.

But do you take the time out of your warp-speed day to actually stop and listen to nature?  Do you slow down for even a moment to notice the vibrant colors that paint the sky?  What about on the weekends?  Do you generously listen to the abundance that is around you?  And now that it’s summer in the Northern Hemisphere, are you noticing the abundance of the season?

When you ‘really’ listen to nature, you enter a level of deep listening that is pure joy.

PLANT A LISTENING SEED:  Drink in the nature that surrounds you….and do it frequently.   Hear it, See it, Smell it, Taste it, Touch it.  LISTENING PAYS!
