If you truly want to manifest the act of love, then listen. Listen with attention, listen with abandonment of your point of view, listen with total dedication to another’s vision, listen with intent to hear their meanings, their intent not just their world.
Truly listen.
If you truly want to manifest the act of love, then listen. Set aside your need to be right, your need to correct, your frame of reference, your dedication to your need to be heard.
Truly listen.
If you truly want to manifest the act of love, then listen. Refuse to form your rebuttal in your head, refuse to amuse yourself with witty comebacks, refuse to roll your eyes, expel deep sighs, refuse to ignore the truth of what the other is trying so valiantly to be heard.
Truly listen.
If you truly want to manifest the act of love, then listen. Invite your speaker to take their time, ask them if there is more to what they just said, keep your eyes warm and your face neutral, maintain eye contact.
Truly listen.
